Our Rooms
Originally built in the early 1900s, the manor has been thoughtfully and artistically restored, honoring its craftsman roots while offering modern comfort. Guests may reserve an individual room and enjoy the home alongside fellow travelers, or reserve the entire property for retreats, gatherings, or family getaways.
All five guest rooms at OMHouse feature their own private bath and were individually designed to reflect a unique local theme, inspired by nearby landmarks, cultural stories, and the rich history of our surrounding area.
Grace’s Suite
Named in honor of Oakland’s most beloved pioneer and flamboyant, life-loving opera singer and actress, Mrs. Grace Mather-Smith, this master suite embodies her spirit of elegance and ease.
Located on the first floor and set apart from the other guest rooms, the suite offers exceptional privacy. It features a king-sized bed, a spacious sitting area, and a luxurious bath with a deep jetted soaking tub overlooking the lake.
A two-person walk-in shower and separate vanities with ample storage complete the room, creating a serene retreat inspired by one of Oakland’s most remarkable women.
The Speakeasy
With custom faux finishes and a playful nod to the era of Prohibition, this room features a high-quality queen mattress and luxurious bedding for a restorative night’s sleep. A cleverly concealed “secret door” leads to the private bath, which also functions as a discreet closet entry. Inside, faux-copper wall coverings, historic tilework, and period-inspired fixtures create a warm, atmospheric retreat with vintage charm.
Sage
The Sage Room is a serene mini-suite with a private bath, sitting room, queen-sized bedroom, and two closets. Its theme offers a quiet nod to the deeper history of this place, honoring the Indigenous peoples who lived along the shores of Lake Apopka and the enslaved individuals whose labor shaped early Oakland. The room holds this history with a softness that invites reflection.
A high-end queen mattress provides a deeply restful night’s sleep. The sitting area, with its nine-foot ceilings and custom driftwood chandelier crafted from fallen native trees gathered around the lake, creates a peaceful place to read, rest, or simply breathe. The sitting room may also be converted into an additional single sleeping space if needed.
Peacock
The Peacock Room is a gracious mini-suite that blends comfort with a touch of quiet enchantment. It features a queen bed and a soft, light-filled sitting and dressing area with a desk for makeup, writing, or a peaceful moment of reflection. The private bath features a walk-in shower that preserves your privacy while offering a view of the lake and the towering oak trees outside.
The room takes its inspiration from the wild peacocks that wander the neighboring streets, their jewel-toned feathers catching the light as they appear and disappear between the trees. Their presence feels a bit like magic, a reminder of the beauty and mystery woven through this historic neighborhood. The Peacock Room invites you into that same sense of wonder, offering a quiet retreat where nature, color, and stillness come together in a space that feels both elegant and alive.
Mermaid
The Mermaid Room carries the soft nostalgia of old Florida, where roadside attractions and natural springs created entire worlds of wonder. Inspired by the iconic mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs, the longest-running mermaid show in the United States, this room pays homage to an era when families packed into station wagons, actresses learned to smile underwater, and the magic felt real enough to touch.
The room itself is a gentle escape. Soft aquatic hues, playful details, and a welcoming queen bed create a space that feels both comforting and familiar, like stepping into a cherished memory. The private bath, featuring a tub and shower, continues the theme with custom accents, hand-finished walls, and historic tiles and fixtures that evoke the vintage charm of Florida’s classic springside retreats.
